Sermon Title: "Esau Sells His Birthright"

Scripture Reading: Genesis 25:19-34

TWIN RELAY:

Let all the children divide into groups of two and run relays of various kinds, of skipping, hopping, ankles tied together, balancing something on top of their heads as they run, etc. Tell children that we will be talking about twin boys in our Bible lesson today.

TWIN STRAW COMPETITION:

Children will be in groups of two and each group will have a straw to pass donuts to each other, or use toothpicks to pass life saver candies to each other.

TWIN HIDE AND GO SEEK:

Children will go out in groups of 2 to hide and one group of 2 will be the seekers. When they find another team of "twins", they will join arms and continue to SEEK more twin groups until all are found.

BACK TO BACK TWINS:

Groups of 2 children will stand back to back and latch arms and see which twin group can run sideways to the finish line.

CHOICE POSTER COLLAGE:

Let children work together as a group or individually to make a CHOICE collage with various shapes of construction paper that can be glued to a poster as a collage... colors, shapes and every shape will have a different CHOICE that a child might have to make. (Choices such as lying, stealing, cheating, praying, reading my Bible, obeying, swearing, helping, etc). Cover poster/collage with clear contact paper if desired for children to use as a place mat. Children can title their poster/collage with MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE. Children can put a small happy face on each "choice" that is a good choice to make.

PRAYING HANDS:

Children can be given black construction paper and trace their "praying" hands and cut out. Then glue or tape the praying hands onto another piece of construction paper and title with bright colored markers, JESUS WILL HELP ME MAKE GOOD CHOICES.

BIBLE TRACINGS:

Provide children with Bible cutouts and markers to write: BE FAITHFUL TO GOD'S WORD. Tell children to use a different colored marker for each word to make their Bible bright and colorful. Children can hang their Bibles around their necks with yarn in punched holes.

BIRTHRIGHT DOCUMENTS:

Type out a generic birthright form for children to fill in their own names and other fun information to describe themselves on the document. After children have completed their birthright document, children can cut out an edging from colored construction paper and glue to the edges of their document to take home and hang on a wall to remind them of GOD in their lives.

SING A SONG:

I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS

SHARE A SNACK:

If there is a kitchen or a burner or a microwave available for the classroom, let children each take one item that the teacher has available and add to the STEW POT, and eat as a snack at the end of class, after the STEW has been simmering during class time. Children might enjoy biscuits or bread sticks to go with their stew!
