What do you eat at Christmas? Yummy cookies! Sweet candy! Turkey dinner! Yum, yum! Do you like Christmas food? Yes!
What else happens at Christmas? Presents! Pretty boxes! We give presents. We get presents. Do you like presents? Yes!

Jesus was born in a stable. Like where animals live. Mary was his mommy. Joseph took care of them. Angels sang! The angels were so happy!
Sometimes we forget about Jesus' birthday. We see all the pretty things. We think about presents. But we might forget Jesus!
Let me tell you about a little boy. He wanted to see animals and clowns. His daddy gave him money. He walked to town. He saw animals walking down the street! He saw clowns! He gave his money to a man. Then he went home. But he missed the real show! The animals and clowns were just walking to the big tent. The real fun was inside the tent!
The little boy missed it! He thought he saw everything, but he didn't!
We don't want to miss Jesus' birthday! Christmas is about Jesus! Jesus loves us so much! He came to be our friend!
Let's pray: Dear Jesus, happy birthday! We love you! Help us remember Christmas is your special day! Amen.
(Have your helper bring out the cupcake with the lit candle. Then lead children in singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and blow out the candle.)
