Do you like to watch mommy and daddy do fun things? Do you ever say "I want to do that too!" and ask them to show you how?
Jesus had friends called disciples. They watched Jesus do something very special every day. Jesus would talk to God! His friends said "We want to learn how to talk to God too!"
Talking to God is called praying. Prayer is just talking to God like talking to your best friend!
Jesus is the best teacher for prayer! Let's learn how Jesus taught us to pray:
First, we say "Dear God" or "Our Father." It's like saying...

Next, we tell God "You are wonderful!" We can say thank you for our food, our family, our toys, and everything good!
Then we tell God "Help me obey you." Just like we obey mommy and daddy!
We can ask God for things we need. Like food to eat and clothes to wear.
We say "I'm sorry" when we do something wrong. And we forgive our friends when they say sorry to us too.
We ask God to help us make good choices and keep us safe.
Prayer is talking to God anytime! In the morning, at dinner, before bed, or when we're scared or happy. God always listens!
