Do you like bright lights? (Hold up flashlight and turn it on.) Lights are so pretty! Today we're going to learn about when Jesus became very, very bright!
Jesus went up on a big mountain with His friends. Mountains are very tall! Jesus was praying to God. Do you know how to pray? We can talk to God anytime!
Something amazing happened! Jesus started to glow like a bright light! (Turn flashlight on and off.) His clothes became white and shiny like lightning! Wow! Jesus was so bright and beautiful!

Peter was one of Jesus' friends. He saw Jesus all bright and shiny. He saw Moses and Elijah too. Peter was so happy! He wanted to stay on the mountain forever and ever.
But Jesus knew they couldn't stay there. Jesus had important work to do. Jesus loves us so much! He came to earth to help us and save us. Jesus wants us to be with Him in heaven someday!
When we love Jesus, every day is special! Some days are extra wonderful, like Jesus' bright day on the mountain. But Jesus has even better things waiting for us! The best is still coming!
Let's pray: Dear God, thank You for Jesus! Thank You that Jesus loves us. Help us love Jesus every day. Amen.
