The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. Last of all, he sent his son to them. 'They will respect my son,' he said. "But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and take his inheritance.' So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. Matthew 21:35-39 (NIV)

Today we will hear a story Jesus told. It's about a man who had a big garden with yummy grapes! The man let other people take care of his grape garden. The helpers were supposed to share the grapes with him.

The man sent more friends to get grapes. But the helpers were mean again! They would not share the grapes.
Then the man said, "I will send my son. They will be nice to my son."
But the mean helpers hurt the son too! That made the man very, very sad.
In this story, the man is like God. God loves us so much! God sent many good people to tell us about His love. But some people would not listen.
Then God sent Jesus, His very own Son! Jesus came to show us how much God loves us. Jesus is God's special gift to us!
Dear God, thank you for Jesus! Thank you for loving us so much. Help us love Jesus too. Amen.
