Jesus performs miracles -- not magic tricks.
Object:
Two pitchers, one clear and one opaque, a package of grape Kool-Aid, a spoon, and a glass. (Ahead of time, put the package of Kool-Aid in the opaque pitcher.)
Scripture:
This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. John 2:11 (NIV)

Look at this water! It's just water. Want to see something amazing? Jesus can do amazing things! (Pour water into pitcher with grape juice mix.) Jesus can do things that nobody else can do! Look - now it's purple! But this is just pretend. Jesus did REAL amazing things!
Jesus went to a big party! It was a wedding party! Lots of people were there! Jesus' mommy was there too! Everyone was happy and having fun!
But then... oh no! They ran out of grape juice! Everyone was sad. Jesus' mommy said, "Jesus, there's no more juice!" Jesus wanted to help!

The helpers filled them up, up, up with water!
Then Jesus did something AMAZING! He made the water turn into the best grape juice ever! Everyone was so happy! They said, "Wow! Only God can do that!"
This was Jesus' first amazing thing! His friends saw it and said, "Jesus really is God's son!" Jesus did amazing things so people would know He loves them!
Jesus loves you too! Jesus can do amazing things because He is God's son!
Thank you God for Jesus! Thank you that Jesus loves us! Amen.
