Weeds in the Garden

Scripture:
"As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil." Matthew 13:40-41 (NIV)

Do you like flowers? Flowers are pretty! God made flowers to grow in gardens.
Sometimes bad weeds grow next to the pretty flowers. Weeds are not pretty. They try to take water from the flowers. That's not nice!
What should we do with the weeds? Should we pull them up? No! If we pull the weeds, we might hurt the pretty flowers too. Ouch!
So we leave the weeds alone. God will take care of the weeds later. We just help the flowers grow big and strong!
Jesus told us a story about flowers and weeds. He said the church is like a garden....

Should we tell the not-so-good people to go away? No! We should be kind to everyone. God will take care of everything. We just need to be good flowers!
How can we be good flowers? We can be kind! We can share! We can love each other! That makes God happy!
When you see someone being mean, you don't need to fix it. Just be extra kind! God sees everything and He will help.
Let's pray: Dear God, help us be kind flowers in your garden. Help us love everyone. Thank you, God! Amen.
