Who knows how to play Follow the Leader? How do you play? Ok---I’ll be the leader ……Follow me…..

Stand up — Sit down — Bend over — Raise leg — Raise arms

Good job….I’m a good leader and y’all are good followers!

Follow the Leader is a good game as long as you have a good leader…… How about if I yelled hello to someone across the room while Brother Jacob was preaching? Would you follow me? What if I stood up on the piano….would you follow me? What if ____________, ____________, and ___________(name children) followed me, would you too???? We have to be very careful about who we choose to follow……we must look at what they are doing and make a decision about whether or not to follow them……..

The Bible gives us some very clear directions about what kind of actions and who we should follow. In Exodus 23:2, it says… “Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd. “

Leviticus 22:31 says: “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the LORD.”

In Leviticus 19:37, the Bible says, “‘Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the LORD.’”

Matthew 4:19 says: “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will teach you how to fish for people.”

All the time Jesus said to his disciples, “follow me” In fact, I counted at least 20 times in the bible, Jesus said, "Follow me."

So in deciding who to follow, there is no better leader to follow than Jesus. If we study his actions and do what he does, we’ll never go wrong.

The apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” That’s what we should all try to do every day, and follow the best leader of all JESUS.
