Sermon Title: "Identification, Please"

Scripture Reading: John 20:19-31

FAITH MARCH:

Give the children some cardboard crosses to write FAITH in large letters with bright markers. The children will march around the room with their crosses held up high, and singing a cadence: I TRUST JESUS, YES I DO! I TRUST JESUS, HOW ABOUT YOU? I BELIEVE GOD'S WORD IS TRUE, I BELIEVE SO HOW ABOUT YOU. I HAVE FAITH IN WHAT GOD CAN-DO, I HAVE FAITH HIS LOVE IS TRUE. I BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED, ROSE AGAIN AND LIVES ON HIGH! I ASKED JESUS IN MY HEART, HE-GAVE MY LIFE A BRAND NEW START! (yes, yes, yes, yes I HAVE FAITH!!)

I BELIEVE GAME:

The teacher states something almost UNBELIEVABLE in the Bible and the children will say I BELIEVE or I DO NOT BELIEVE!! Questions could be from the story of Jonah, Daniel and the Lions Den, Esther, David killing a giant, etc.

PIN THE NAILS ON THE HANDS:

Two large hand prints can be taped to the wall and then blindfold the children and let them try to pin large black construction paper HOLES onto the middle of each hand. Children can be divided into teams for each hand, if desired.

HAND PRINTS:

OPTION 1 - Have the children trace each of their hands on construction paper and then glue a large black dot/circle onto each hand. Encourage the children to trace or write I BELIEVE above the hands picture. Ask Children if THEY BELIEVE IN JESUS! OPTION 2 - After tracing their hands, children can write STOP DOUBTING AND BELIEVE IN BRIGHT RED COLORS, or write those STOP words on a bright red stop sign shaped sign and attach it to a painter's stirring stick.

ID CARD:

Provide the children with a bright neon colored recipe card, markers and stickers. The children will draw a picture of themselves, write a few ID questions/info and some stickers to form their OWN ID card. Encourage children to write CHRISTIAN as one of the ID's information.

FAITH CROSSES:

Give the children construction paper, stickers and markers to make a cross and write and decorate the word FAITH on the cross, to be hung around the child's neck.

CROSS PUZZLE:

Use colored card stock to make a puzzle with art work and I BELIEVE. The teacher can cut the puzzle pieces and give them to the children to piece together. Children can work together if they are younger, or individually if they are older.

CROSS LACING:

Cut out two crosses from poster board and hole punch around the edges for children to lace up and hang at home or in the classroom. "I BELIEVE" is printed on the cross!

I BELIEVE POSTER:

Glitter glue I BELIEVE on a poster and let children add happy faces and cross stickers, etc, while discussing the lesson with children! Will we be a doubter like Thomas or a believer? FAITH is believing in things NOT SEEN!

SING A SONG:

ONLY BELIEVE; Children can listen to I BELIEVE IN A HILL CALLED MT CALVARY

SHARE A SNACK:

The teacher can make cupcakes with a candy in the middle or the FUN DA MIDDLES cupcakes and let children know there is a surprise in the middle if they BELIEVE there is.
