Sermon Title: "The God of the Impossible"

Scripture Reading: Mark 10:17-31

CAMEL RACING: Divide the children into teams to run a relay as camels. The children will have to raise their bodies in the middle and run to the final line on their hands and feet. When they reach the other side, they will take a sip of water from a small dixie cup and spit it across another line, as camels spit.

PIN THE HUMP ON THE CAMEL: The teacher can make a large tracing of a camel without the humps and color the camel and children can turns being blind folded and trying to put 2 humps on the camel. The teacher can have tape or pins for children to put their humps on the camel.

CAMEL PLAY TIME: Divide the children into teams. One team at a time can put a blanket over their team players and walk around the room for the other team to enjoy their team's CAMEL WALK. Make sure to encourage the children to lift up their bodies under the blanket to be more like a camel. Let the teacher decide which team looked MOST like a camel for today's lesson. The teacher can give the winning team a treat, but could also give the other team a treat as well for doing their best to be a camel!

"IMPOSSIBLE" FINGER PAINTING: Provide the children with finger painting paper and paints. Make sure they have aprons on as well as towels and such to clean up with for their hands. Encourage children to splatter their paint and then try to form a camel with their fingers. Children can then write WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE, on their art work.

FELT CAMELS: Children can be given a large picture of a camel, pieces of felt and fur and markers to color and decorate their camel. The children can glue the camel onto a piece of colored sand paper (coloring with side of a crayon) and tape a large plastic sewing needle next to the camel. Write words from today's Bible verse on their Camel picture.

POSSIBLE BANNER: Place a very long piece of white paper (butchers paper) on a long classroom table or on the classroom floor, Provide the children with markers, stickers and glitter, etc to decorate their ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD, banner. Hang on a focal wall in or near the classroom.

NEEDLE SEWING: Provide each child with large holed plastic needle and some thin yarn. Children can have two pictures, cut out the same and hole punched for children to sew to THREAD THE NEEDLE and then sew their pictures together such as 2 hearts, or 2 crosses, 2 camels, etc. Sew together and stuff with a little tissue paper when the child has sewn around most of the picture so that there will be a little padding in their art work.

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE: Children can cut out a heart or a circle (of love) and color and decorate and write ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD with a bright neon marker. Cover their buttons with clear adhesive and cut around the edges with pinking shears. Tape a safety pin to the back to pin on the child's shirt.

SING A SONG: ONLY BELIEVE (ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE)

SHARE A SNACK: Camels like to eat seeds, apples, carrots, oats ... teachers.. use your imagination (maybe sun flower seeds, granola oat bars... etc) and let your little "camels" eat some snacks like a camel might enjoy?
