Sermon Title: "Saving the Best for Last" Scripture Reading: John 2:1-11 |
WATER JUG RELAY: Divide the children into teams and give each team a large bowl of water, a spoon, and a pot. Set a timer for the amount of time you want the game to last. Each team player will take a turn in spooning some water into the pot and then take the spoon back to the next player who will then go and spoon water into the pot. Continue until the timer runs out. The team with the most water in their pot is the winner! FILLING THE JARS WITH WATER: Give the children six jars and tell them to fill the six jars with water. when all six jars are filled, tell the children to listen to our Bible lesson to learn what Jesus did with six jars filled with water. MIRACLE BOOK MARKS: Provide supplies for the children to make a bookmark with the words "I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!" ETERNAL LIFE COLLAGE: Give the children some magazine pictures of things God has given us such as clothes, food, homes, beds, sheets, and toys. After gluing pictures on the poster, title the collage GOOD THINGS FROM GOD. When the collage is finished, the teacher will give the children a sign that says, "ETERNAL LIFE - SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST". Tape or glue the sign over the collage pictures. GRAPE JUICE BOTTLES: Give each child a small bottle of grape juice. Provide children with a strip of paper to write I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES, or other phrases from today's lesson and wrap around the bottle of juice and tape to the bottle. Let children drink from their grape juice bottles during snack time. (This could also be considered the snack.) GRAPE CATERPILLAR KABOBS SNACK: You will need one large bag of seedless grapes to make about 12 caterpillars with 12 grapes on each kabob stick. You will also need some wooden skewers, white frosting, mini chocolate chips, and an icing bag. Put the grapes onto the skewers horizontally pushing them all the way to the blunt end of the skewer leaving enough room for a hand-hold at the pointed end. This will create a nice fat little caterpillar. On the head grape, squeeze two small dollops of white frosting and then put two mini chocolate chips on the two white dots to create the caterpillar's eyes.
