What season is it right now? (Fall) How do you know? (leaves falling, colder)

A season can be a period of the year known as fall. It could also be a time for sports (football season Sept - Jan) or a time when something is at its best (cantaloupes are in season between June and August), or a holiday (the Christmas season)

In the bible, Paul the apostle is writing to Timothy and he says, “4 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season.

Is there a season for prayer and worshipping God? We pray on Sundays when we come to church, so for some people, “Worship” and “Prayer” are in season on Sundays. Another time that prayer is in “season” is when we are going through something difficult in our lives and we pray for God’s comfort and guidance.

This bible verse reminds us that we should be praying all the time, not just on Sundays or when life is difficult. We should be worshiping God all the time. We should be thanking God all the time. Worship and Prayer are always in season for us. >From now on, whenever you hear or see the word “season” I want you to remember what Paul told Timothy, that the season for being a child of God is now, later, today, tomorrow, all day, all night, and always. I say the word Emmanuel which means God is with you. Let’s close in prayer.

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for this day and for all the different seasons. We are reminded today that one season stands above earthly seasons, a season that lasts from the time we are born until the day we meet you in eternity. We praise your name today and thank you for being with us always. Amen.
