The Best Valentine
Tema
Valentine Day
Objetos
Kids' valentines (new or used), scriptures printed on small cards (about the size of a business card) tucked inside Bible pages. Optional: Make enough small cards of scripture so that children can give "God's Valentines" to everyone in worship. We also gave everyone a Hershey's Kiss candy! It was especially touching for the widows and widowers of our congregation to receive a Valentine.

Do you give a Valentine to everyone in your class? Your best friend? The new kid? Even the boy or girl who isn’t very nice to you?
Look what happened when I opened up my Bible this week. (Open Bible and let the scripture cards fall on the ground) All these Valentines fell out! Let’s read a few of these Valentines. (read scriptures on cards)
These Valentines are words from the Bible. The scriptures were given to us all—everyone in the class. God gave us these words, not just for Valentines day, but for every day, and to each of us—you, me, everyone in this church, and everyone in this world. They are words of love from God and instructions for us to love God and to love one another.
Let’s pray. Dear Lord, thank you for giving us the best Valentine ever, your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that we will follow your instructions to love you with all our heart and with all our mind, and we pray that we will love others just as you love us so that your love will be made complete in us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
