Hands

Theme

It depends Whose hands it’s in. Trusting our lives to God.

Object

A tennis racket, a baseball, a basketball, a rod, a slingshot, loaf of bread & empty fish sticks box, nails. (Optional-Pictures of: Serena Williams, Derek Jeter, Labron James, Moses parting the Red Sea, David defeating Goliath, Jesus feeding the 5000, Jesus on the Cross).

Scripture

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

A tennis racket is rather useless in my hands. A tennis racket in Serena Williams’ hands, the famous tennis star, is worth $8 million. It depends whose hands it's in.

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6. A baseball in Derek Jeter’s hands, the famous Yankees baseball player, is worth $25 million. It depends on whose hands it's in.

A basketball in my hands is worth about $20. A basketball in Labron James’ hands, the famous basketball player that’s been in the news lately, is worth about $110 million. It depends whose hands it's in.

A rod in my hands will help me keep away an angry dog. God used a rod in Moses' hands to part the mighty Red Sea. It depends whose hands it's in.

A slingshot in my hands is a kid's toy. God used a slingshot in David's hand as a mighty weapon. It depends whose hands it's in.

Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches. Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in Jesus' hands fed thousands of people. It depends whose hands it's in.

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse to keep birds safe and secure. Nails in Jesus Christ's hands produced salvation for the entire world. It depends whose hands it's in.

As you see now , it depends whose hands it's in. So put your troubles, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families, your friends in God's hands because... It depends whose hands it's in.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to remember that we need to put our lives in Your hands so that You can use us to do the things that You have created us to do. Amen.
