Summary of this sermon...
Showing the love of Jesus means more than just saying it, we must take action. Jesus taught us to keep His commandments and care for one another, like feeding the hungry and praying with those in need. We can show love by providing for others, visiting the sick, and taking care of each other, following Jesus' example. John 14:15 and John 21:17.Activities + Resources
Valentine’s day is coming this week. This is a day when we tell people how much we love them. How do we tell people we love them. Some people say I love you with a card. Some with a box of chocolates. And some with candy that has messages on it.
John 14:15 (NASB95)
Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Jesus told Peter, “If you love me, feed my sheep.”
I think what Jesus was saying was that we have to do more than say we love each other. We show love when we take care of each other.
When we provide food to people who do not have any, we show love. When we pray with someone we show love. When we visit someone who is sick we show love.
That is what Jesus meant when he said take care of my sheep.
