Scripture
This is what the LORD, the King of Israel and its Redeemer, the LORD of Hosts, says: I am the first and I am the last. There is no God but Me. Isaiah 44:6 HCSB
In today’s world it is sometimes difficult for us to tell the difference between what is real and what is fake. For example, television commercials or infomercials promise all kinds of results if we use their products – which many times are discovered to be false claims.
Another example would be pictures or videos found on the Internet – which can easily be altered to have the appearance of being real when in fact they are not true at all.
And at other times, people place their hope, trust, and dependence in someone or something so much that it becomes very much like a god to them. They come to depend on that person or thing to meet their every need but in the end discover that they are still empty inside and their deepest need is still left unmet.
The truth is false gods will always give false hope. There is only One God who can meet all of our needs, who we can depend on, and who we can trust in – the Lord God Almighty.
Listen to this Scripture passage: This is what the LORD, the King of Israel and its Redeemer, the LORD of Hosts, says: I am the first and I am the last. There is no God but Me. Isaiah 44:6 HCSB
The Lord God Almighty is real and His promises and love for us are real. He is the only God we should depend on.
Let’s pray – Lord, we thank you for being real and for being the One we can always depend on to meet our every need. Help us to always look to You when we need answers and guidance for our lives. Amen.
